AMC’s campaign for The Walking Dead Season 4 to receive some Emmy love is reminding voters that this is a show about humans, not zombies.
The posters, which were revealed on The Hollywood Reporter, are For Your Consideration ads that highlight some of the most emotional and dramatic moments of Season 4. Since its premiere, “The Walking Dead” has only been nominated for technical Emmys and never for its actors, writing or direction.
In all likelihood, it’s Melissa McBride’s performance that will earn recognition. Her story arc in Season 4 was fantastic, and the episode “The Grove” — which featured her decision to kill a mentally ill and dangerous girl for the safety of the other survivors — was one of the strongest of the series.
“The Walking Dead” Season 5 will return in October on AMC. The Emmys will be held on Aug. 25.
